The reality is that The Glovers are now ‘on the brink’ of relegation from the SkyBet Championship aren’t we?

Any chance that we have of somehow pulling of a great escape probably died with the emphatic defeat inflicted upon us by relegation rivals Barnsley at Huish Park with it a near certainty if we can’t beat Blackpool on Saturday.

Blackpool are without the experienced Ricardo Fuller and Kirk Broadfoot because of knee injuries but could call upon Robert Earnshaw’s experience up front. Earnshaw and Apostolos Vellios are both in line to make home debuts.

Kevin Foley has been on loan from SkyBet League 1 side Wolverhampton Wanderers but looks set to return to his parent club.

The Glovers have Ruben Palazuelos back in training so the Spaniards experience and ability in midfield could be called upon by Gary Johnson is he is fit enough to be involved, and this could be a boost for us if he is.

Kieffer Moore cut his head against Barnsley last weekend but this isn’t going to be enough to keep him out of the trip to Bloomfield Road.

The win we picked up against Blackpool at the end of last year must be repeated on Saturday or slim chances of staying up become virtually none. We’ll probably not manage this regardless but you’d imagine that the fight we have left in us will be lost completely if back to back defeats against fellow strugglers were to happen.

18 games without a win in all competitions saw Blackpool slide down the SkyBet Championship table but two wins from the last five leaves them in a healthier position with the last two they’ve played at home won.

We’ve got it all to do if we can somehow win tomorrow we’ve got a glimmer of hope.
