Manager Paul Sturrock has today completed the signing of former Rangers striker Jamie Burrows.

The deal for the 20 year old remains subject to international clearance as he heads down from Scotland on a one year deal with a further years option it appears based on appearance related clauses.

The youngster worked his way through Rangers’ youth set up, earning a two year youth deal, progressing to a one year professional deal, but early on in the 2014-15 season he broke his ankle and they chose to release him this summer.

Speaking to the Official Site Sturrock explained.

‘A friend of mine gave me the quote ‘he is either smelly or Pelé` and it will be my job to make sure he is more Pelé than smelly. I have seen enough of Jamie`s highlights and had my cards marked by several other people about what this boy can potentially achieve.’

He comes in having not made his debut for Rangers obviously, but he could well potentially be somebody to watch out for in the coming year if his Sturrock received reviews are anything to go off.
