Let’s take the positive from the SkyBet League 1 game against Chesterfield on Saturday at the Proact Stadium, at least we didn’t lose, but we also didn’t win!

The goalkeepers were the main winners in the 0-0 draw, which I would have to say we’ve got to regard as a good point as any away point is a good point isn’t it?

Kieffer Moore should have put us into an early lead, which probably would have settled the nerves not to mention boosted confidence and on the balance of chances won the game, but his header at the back post was straight at Tommy Lee who saved with his legs.

A worry on Jordan Clarke’s debut for The Glovers came as the home side appealed a handball against the defender, but we survived as the first half slipped past with little meaningful event.

You sensed that this game would be won by a mistake or a moment of brilliance, there wasn’t too much of the latter but the former almost handed Chesterfield the lead early in the second half.

A Liam Davis mistake gave Eoin Doyle a chance that he would have been expected to finish for Chesterfield but returning loanee goalkeeper Jed Steer saved, an effort that was again straight at him.

Chesterfield almost snatched it in injury time when a corner was deflected towards goal but Steer reacted well at his near post to save again and make sure we went back to Somerset with a share of the points, with some pressure eased slightly going into the FA Cup.
