Stephen Arthurworrey was one of the few success stories last season for Yeovil, also impressing against Man United in the FA Cup, so to bring the defender back on loan is a major boost.

This is something that we were able to confirm on the Official Website on Wednesday.

Arthurworrey has signed a one-year extension to his Fulham contract but a deal was then agreed with the Championship side for him to return to Huish Park for another loan spell, he’ll be back on a season-long loan.

Commenting on his return Paul Sturrock said.

‘I am very pleased with the acquisition of Stephen. For a young player he was outstanding in the heart of the defence for us at the end of last season.

‘He is going to be the stalwart of our defence this season. I am really looking forward to working with him and helping him to improve his game.’

Defensively we were, in the main, poor last season but Arthurworrey was most definitely someone that was able to come out of the season with some credit with him impressing during his loan, which lasted a large portion of the campaign.

If he can repeat, if not better, his form then we’ll not go far wrong but even though this is a season-long loan his parent club does have the option to recall him in January.

Hopefully they’ll not be doing that mind!
