Glovers v Rochdale – Preview

Defeat, although far from unexpected, against Sheffield United on Tuesday meant The Glovers dropped back into the SkyBet League 1 relegation zone, not a place we either wanted or expected to be with October coming to an end.

We’ve got a chance to climb out of this again when we face Rochdale at Huish Park on Saturday.

James Berrett’s injury meant he missed that defeat and Gary Johnson could name only six substitutes, he’s still a doubt.

After another poor performance, with Joel Grant taken off at half time, Johnson will again make changes with Grant one of those under threat with Kevin Dawson and Sam Foley options to come back in.

Rochdale lost Peter Vincenti to an Achilles injury in a win over Swindon on Tuesday, his replacement Bastien Hery won that game and should keep his place.

Injuries and suspensions are being kind to our opponents though, who don’t have any other concerns.

I’m not sure we can keep saying ‘something got to change’, when it usually doesn’t, but something got to change and we need to at least pick up a point on Saturday.

The games at Huish Park are of particular importance to us as if we can’t win at home, as we’re also not winning away, we could find ourselves facing a second successive relegation and be back in the SkyBet League 2!
