Manager Gary Johnson has confirmed that striker Sam Hoskins and defender Liam Davis are out of contention for tonight’s game against Watford, but he remains hopeful that new midfield signing Ruben Palazuelos’ international clearance will come through today to enable him to make his debut for us.

Speaking late yesterday to Western Daily Press Johnson explained that it was a fingers crossed ‘expect it any minute now’ job when it came to the 30 year olds international clearance but if it didn’t come in last night, which is appears not to have done, then we have a number of hours today for it to tick through.

‘We’re sure it’s in the system so if the postman can get through it should be ok. He’s a Spanish footballer and that tells you it all, already.’

Johnson says fans shouldn’t expect too much to quickly from the experienced midfielder though, as he’s recently played 120 games for Hearts in the Scottish Premiership and despite training with us for the past fortnight he’ll still need to time to really bed in, get his fitness perfect and of course adjust to the English way of playing.

In other team news Hoskins is out with a groin issue, and Davis remains out with a toe problem as both of them suffered a setback when attempting to get back to fitness.

Will be a tough ask to get three points tonight against the quality of Watford, but if we can keep ourselves in the game and then take our chances we’ll have every shot really – it just is taking our chances.
