Manager Gary Johnson has confirmed that discussions are already underway when it comes to keeping a number of our current loanees with us for longer.

Speaking to the Official Site the main focus was Everton pair Shane Duffy and John Lundstram who have both had a tellingly important role for us since joining at different points in the first half of the season.

Duffy has been an ever present in the first team since arriving in September and so has Lundstram who has already also found the net for us. Yeovil and both players have had positive talks with their paymasters and Johnson believes a deal is very close.

‘I will be very disappointed if after recent discussions we do not have Shane and John for the remainder of the season, and that is a big coup for us.’

Johnson says that we do have a provision deal in place and that Everton have again been fantastic, but such is life on these deals and the fact they can’t be official until January 1st it always leaves that gap open where something else may happen – but he remains very confident in will go through.

Johnson goes on to say that it will be great to keep both of them because they have admirably rose to the challenges he set them and he now feels they have been ‘Yeovilified.’

In further ‘loan related interviews’ in other outlets, Johnson also confirmed that he is also talking to Nottingham Forest over Ishmael Miller, Cardiff City over Joe Ralls and Bristol City about Liam Fontaine.

If the gaffer can secure all of them he will no doubt be very happy on New Year’s Day.
