Yeovil stuck two fingers up to their critics today as the club opened it’s Championship season by snatching all three points from Millwall.

Speaking to the BBC following Ed Upson’s 88th minute winner, a delighted Gary Johnson said.

‘We are used to people telling us we are going to get relegated and with our budget we really should be, but we use it as a strength. Anything we do is a bonus. We have a group of lads who know how to put in a shift and work for each other. They will all improve as they are a young lot. I think we deserved that win, I thought we played the best side in the first half without having any real chances.’

As fans can imagine, Ed Upson was also all smiles as he spoke to the press following his winner.

‘It’s a great feeling, it’s one of those things where it’s my first appearance in the Championship. It was nice to get that goal and for it to be a winning goal. There’s going to be a lot of coverage of us and everyone’s going to be interested in how we cope with it and deal with it. No one’s going to believe we can do anything in the Championship so in a way the pressure is off for us.’
