I’ve genuinely lost count of how many have come and gone from Huish Park since the end of last season! I doubt I’m alone am I….

What we do know is we’ve added another defender with Alex Lacey penning a contract today.

Lacey has been brought in from our will be League 2 rivals this season Luton, who transfer-listed him at the end of last season, on a two-year contract.

Obviously he’ll have plenty more to say in time but Paul Sturrock’s initial thoughts, shared on the Official Website, on his signing were.

‘I am delighted to secure the signing of Alex.

‘He is a natural talent that has played fairly regularly in League Two, I feel he has massive potential and I hope we all get to see that potential.’

A member of Luton’s Conference title winning side the season before last, who was not too long ago being linked with the likes of Bournemouth, Charlton and Millwall apparently, had been made the Hatters’ captain last summer!

Loan spells had taken him away from Kenilworth Road with the 22-year-old, who debuted for his former club as a 16-year-old; now joining part of what we’ll hope can be a bright future at the club under Sturrock.
