Yeovil’s League 2 season continued with a draw against Portsmouth at Huish Park on Saturday.

A crucial three-points was on for Yeovil but in the end the Glovers had to be content with a point from a one-one draw against promotion chasing Portsmouth.

Francois Zoko put Yeovil ahead with a little over 15-minutes to play, when Portsmouth defender Christian Burgess was sent of for two yellow cards within a minute of each other the Glovers also had a man advantage.

Pompey hit back through Gary Roberts late on though to see Yeovil remain second from bottom and still in serious danger of another relegation and dropping out of the Football League.

These were the other results.

Saturday 20th February 2016

Barnet 1-2 Wimbledon
Bristol Rovers 2-1 Morecambe
Cambridge 3-1 York

Yeovil 1-1 Portsmouth

The Northampton run continues, a 50-year plus winning run was equalled last time round with the Cobblers (one-nil) winning at Sixfields against play-off chasing Wycombe again to not only set that new club record of successive wins it also strengthens the promotion bid with them almost certain to be in League 1 next season.

With it looking a good bet to be as League 2 Champions!

Oxford’s (two-one) bid to join them took a knock as they lost again with Accrington, who have now closed in on the U’s, winning at the Kassam Stadium but Plymouth (one-one) missed the chance to open up more of a gap in second with a draw at Crawley.

With the play-off chasing pack congested Bristol Rovers (two-one) again Morecambe and Leyton Orient (one-nil) at Notts County responded well to defeats against Portsmouth and Northampton, respectively, last time to get those efforts going again.
