Madden Leaves Yeovil

Striker Paddy Madden has now departed Yeovil and signed a two and half year deal at Scunthorpe United.

Last years leading league goalscorer, has struggled this season and hasn’t always seen eye to eye with manager Gary Johnson who confirmed a few weeks back that he would be looking to move the 23 year old on.

After joining us from Carlisle he went on to make 44 appearances for the club, scoring a total of 23 goals, and his exploits last season saw him rewarded with a call up from the Republic of Ireland side.

Speaking to the Official Site as official confirmation of his departure was announced, Johnson said.

‘I’m as disappointed as anyone else that things haven’t worked out this season for Paddy for whatever reason. These things happen in football and we all move on. I would like to thank Paddy for his service to our club and we all wish him well for the future.’

The player moves to his new club for an undisclosed fee, having only made 11 appearances for Yeovil so far this campaign and hadn’t featured since the loss to Wigan back in November.
