Paddy Madden has been rewarded for his form last season and been called into the Republic of Ireland’s squad for their game against Wales.

Last season’s League One top scorer was watched by assistant manager Marco Tardelli last Saturday and he appears to have been impressed.

Paddy will join up with the squad tomorrow and he told the Official Site.

‘I am so proud to be called up to the squad. This is something I have dreamt about since I was a small lad. I cannot wait to meet up with them all tomorrow and fingers crossed I get to show everyone what I can do.’
