Manager Gary Johnson has today brought in Crystal Palace centre half Ryan Inniss for a loan spell.

The 19 year old has joined us on a youth loan initially for a month and he’s moved to us in time to be in contention for his debut this weekend against Swindon Town.

The 6ft 5incher has been with Palace since the age of 14 and has already spent time out on loan with Cheltenham Town, Luton Town and most recently Gillingham.

He has also represented England at U16 and U17 level.

Speaking to the BBC about the move, Johnson revealed that Inniss had been recommended to him by former Palace manager Tony Pulis such is the way the club rate the youngster.

‘We have kept an eye on him and it’s good timing on our part. He certainly looks the part so hopefully he can strengthen our squad.’

Johnson ended by joking that given his height, when they first shook hands it was like a repeat of Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger side by side in the film Twins.
