Ralph To Be Given Glovers Chance

They don’t come more unfortunate than Glovers full back Nathan Ralph do they? Rehab after a long term knee injury was going well until he suffered another setback in training recently.

As I hoped he would Ralph was given a contract until the end of the season recently but his hopes of forcing himself back into the side were dealt a blow when he turned his ankle in training.

Gary Johnson has told The Western Gazette though that he’s going to give him every chance of reviving his Glovers career and if he can have a bit more luck with injury, and get himself full fit, he’ll have a chance before the end of the season.

Ralph isn’t setting us back too much financially either, which is good to hear.

‘We really are keeping our fingers crossed that he will come through and we’re giving him every chance to get his career back on track.

‘He’s not on a fortune by any stretch of the imagination so he’s not really taking any of our budget, only a very small part.

‘We’re just going to give him every chance to get back to full fitness and see if he can get near the team by the end of the season.’

Maybe Ralph isn’t in such a mood for Jokes but Johnson went on to jest that given how unlucky he is you wouldn’t want to be near him if a bomb dropped as it would be bound to pick him out and that if you saw him out and about you might be best advised to cross the road to avoid him.

All said in good humour and taken that way by Ralph I’m sure who I hope can be back in full training and pushing forward his first team credentials again soon.

Talk about needing a break! If Johnson is joking like that hopefully it’s not too serious a relapse to the sidelines, and it would indicate he’s in good spirits. Even if he doesn’t make it with for next season, when a players’ hit like that you can’t help but want them to bounce back can you.

It does seem it’s only a short term setback on this occasion so hopefully he’ll be back soon. Think the kid deserves a break, actually probably the wrong word.
