It wasn’t expected that The Glovers would get much from the SkyBet League 1 visit to Sheffield United on Tuesday, so we wouldn’t be too surprised that we didn’t get anything would we?

A goal in either half was enough to give Sheffield United a 2-0 win at Bramall Lane.

The Glovers faced an uphill struggle after falling behind to an early goal, Artur Krysiak wasn’t able to hold a Louis Reed effort with Marc McNulty following up to score his latest of an impressive spell with Sheffield United following his summer arriving from Scottish side Livingston.

Joel Grant was a relieved man that his poor back pass wasn’t capitalised upon as McNulty and Stefan Scougall both had chances to extend the lead.

A repeat of our heroics in the to win our play off semi final against Sheffield United couldn’t be seen but we did have some half chances, which we really couldn’t afford not to take when we had them

James Hayter couldn’t hit the target with a good chance with Bob Harris getting in a last gasp challenge to prevent Manchester City loanee Jordy Hiwula from getting a shot away, which I would have at least hoped would have tested goalkeeper Mark Howard!

Sheffield United though did take their chances with Reed putting in Jamie Murphy who made no mistake to double the lead, and secure the points in the process.

Dominance was rewarded for the home side who might have thought they should have got more for their efforts, for us we lick our wounds and look to our next battle with something positive needed soon.
