The ‘gentleman’s agreement’ between Gary Johnson and Ian Holloway could be broken with NewsAtDen reporting that Holloway is considering involving Ed Upson in the huge SkyBet Championship meeting tomorrow.

When Upson left The Glovers to sign for Millwall last month for £100,000 it was agreed that he wouldn’t feature against us when the sides met this month but with Holloway angered by Johnson’s parting words that he didn’t think that Upson was good enough for this level he has had a change of heart.

Upson is now in consideration to feature on Tuesday.

Johnson’s comments might come back to haunt him, and us tomorrow night as if Holloway does play Upson a player often does something to inspire a new club against his old one so you can bet that he would either score a goal or play a part in a goal that led to us being beaten.

If we didn’t get anything in writing then Millwall are within their rights to play him whatever gentleman’s agreement might have been put in place.

Should Upson play we have to hope that it went the other way and his intent to prove Johnson wrong would end up with the midfielder trying too hard and this having a negative influence on his game but I’d sooner not risk us having to find out and hope this agreement is honoured and Holloway is just playing mind games.
