Gary Johnson has said his players must take the first half against Bury as a wake up call ahead of our Play Off battle against Sheffield United.

Speaking to This Is Somerset following the 3-2 loss, Johnson said he didn’t recognise the team based on their first 45 minute showing.

‘You have got to try and go into the play off games seeing your game. Our game with these players has got us to where we are now and we didn’t recognise our game in that first half.’

Johnson says it was mainly a case of players being individuals on the pitch, instead of working together as a team and they just didn’t show anything that was expected of them. Of course, Johnson was pleased with how they responded in the second half, but by then the damage in the game head already been done and we were chasing.

Adding that if anything was to come as a positive from the first half, at least the players will know they can’t go into the play off games complacent or thinking that they only need to turn up to win.
