A missed penalty, although Walsall also missed a penalty, meant that we suffered a damaging one-nil setback at Huish Park on Tuesday – unsurprisingly a familiar face scored the winning goal.

Loanee arrival Loach went straight into goal but when he brought down our former Man City loanee Hiwula Walsall had a penalty. Bradshaw stepped up but Loach redeemed himself to save his effort, which was weak.

Hiwula (32) made the breakthrough though when he beat Loach to keep up his impressive run with Walsall, which he couldn’t manage with us, to open the scoring.

Baxendale would have doubled the lead but for the post while Hayter headed against the crossbar for us.

A chance of securing a point came our way when Purkiss brought down Grant. Having come off the bench to rescue us a point recently Morgan tried to do this again but Walsall ‘keeper O’Donnell saved to deny him, as he did with a fine save from Webster’s header late on….

Following this game, as is customary of course, attention now turns to the MotM for us.
