Costly Errors Add To Glovers Worries

The Glovers are going to find it tough enough to stay in the SkyBet Championship as it is but making the errors that we did in the defeat to Leeds on Saturday will just make the battle an even harder one to win.

In the first half we more than held our own and deserved the lead that we took into the break.

Had it been two nil, which was more than possible, that could’ve been a cushion to bring us a first even win over Leeds but more importantly three priceless points in our battle to avoid an instant return to League 1.

Ismael Miller’s penalty miss at the end of the first half was punished within second of the second half kicking off again when Marek Stech made his first mistake of the afternoon and his second led to the winning Leeds goal.

Stech apologising to his teammates is all good and well, but it isn’t going to change the defeat. I would assume that Miller also apologised to his teammates too for his woeful penalty mind.

These mistakes are made, we can’t go back an undo them and must move on.

This defeat could prove to be the defining moment in our battle to avoid SkyBet Championship relegation but what we do have to do is quickly put them behind us, the conditions didn’t help us but Leeds had to play against them to but unlike us they didn’t pay the price for costly errors in the wind and the rain.

Nothing other than a win in our next game will be good enough now though.

We’ve got to get a foothold and end out run of seven defeats from our last eight, which is a run of results leaves us at the risk of being cut adrift at the foot of the table with us currently six points from safety.
