Damage Limitation With Miller

Losing Ishmael Miller after only just 10 minutes of the game against Doncaster on Saturday was a big blow to The Glovers chances, not only on that afternoon but also for our SkyBet Championship survival hopes.

Fortunately we went onto win 1-0 at Huish Park anyway and moved to within five points of safety.

Gary Johnson has said that the heavy ground didn’t help the powerfully built striker and has told The Western Daily Press that it was a case of ‘damage limitation’ with Miller and that’s why he took him off.

Miller didn’t want to come off but after feeling something wasn’t right with his hamstring it was decided that no risks could be taken as the problem would have only got worse had the on loan striker stayed on.

Sometimes you’ve got to view the bigger picture and if taking him off after only 10 minutes of a must win game against a SkyBet Championship relegation rival means that we’ll got more games out of him before the season ends as a result it was definitely the right call.

Who knows, that decision might be the one that keeps us up in the end?
