Yeovil’s League 2 season continued with a draw against Plymouth at Huish Park on Tuesday.

A second successive draw, against a promotion chasing side after the draw with Portsmouth on Saturday, saw Yeovil draw nil-nil with second placed Plymouth.

Both sides had chances to win the game but this point is probably much more valuable to the Yeovil Football League survival bid than it is Plymouth’s promotion one with this point enough to take the Glovers out of the bottom two.

These were the other results.

Tuesday 23rd February 2016
Accrington 3-2 Notts County
Wimbledon 1-0 Carlisle
Barnet 1-0 Portsmouth
Exeter 1-4 Oxford Utd
Yeovil 0-0 Plymouth
York 1-2 Northampton

Champions elect Northampton (two-one) continue their near relentless march to promotion with another win to further extend the club record when they won at relegation threatened York.

Oxford’s (four-one) win at Exeter saw the U’s top three bid going again after this had stalled, the St James Park defeat was another nail in the Grecians coffin as far as a play-off place being secured goes.

Accrington (three-two) won against Notts County to keep the pressure on the top three with Plymouth (nil-nil) dropping point when held to a draw by relegation threatened Yeovil, which is what they did to Portsmouth at the weekend.

Pompey’s (one-nil) own promotion effort were dealt a huge blow by a defeat at Barnet to keep their poor run of form going and, at the moment, them looking like they might even miss the play-offs with this something Wimbledon (one-nil) could well achieve with the Dons’ fine form continuing against a possible play-off rival Carlisle.
