Yeovil’s League 2 season continued with a win against Wimbledon at Kingsmeadow on Saturday.

The chances of Yeovil staying in the Football League were given another boost with them edging out Wimbledon by the odd goal in five with a three-two win secured due to a Jack Compton hat-trick.

David Fitzpatrick had Wimbledon ahead early on only for Compton to soon level. Tom Elliott restored the Dons’ lead Compton again struck back to make it two-all at half time. Just past the hour Compton completed his hat-trick and a precious Glovers win.

These were the other results.

Saturday 30th January 2016
Accrington 1-0 Bristol Rovers
Wimbledon 2-3 Yeovil
Crawley 0-1 Mansfield
Hartlepool 0-2 Exeter
Leyton Orient 1-3 Cambridge
Luton 0-2 Notts County
Morecambe 1-2 Newport
Plymouth 0-1 Wycombe
York 2-1 Stevenage

Looking at these results the stand out ones have to be the wins for Wycombe (one-nil) and York (two-one).

Without the leaders Northampton in action Plymouth missed the chance to take advantage with Argyle beaten one-nil by Wycombe, who boosted their promotion chances, with a win at Home Park.

Another of the relegation threatened sides are York with them bringing Stevenage right back into the mix too (which Hartlepool are now very much in after another defeat) with a two-one win at Bootham Crescent.
