Yeovil’s season, whatever way you look at it, was bitterly disappointing before Sunday’s thrashing at MK Dons but that heavy defeat just added to our misery as we were hammered at the stadium:mk as our hosts secured automatic promotion into the Championship.

MK Dons knew the had to win, and Preston had to lose to relegation threatened Colchester. With MK Dons thrashing us five-one and Preston losing one-nil it was MK Dons that finished as runners-up and Colchester avoided joining us in League 2 next season….

It couldn’t have been a better start for MK Dons with Baker (7) firing them into an early lead from distance.

Lewington’s (24) freekick, which Krysiak had no chance with, made it two at the midway point of the first half before a quick fire double from Potter (35) and Grigg (39) meant it was four at half time.

A first half for us to forget had seen Grant miss our best chance when he failed to hit the target when well placed.

An own goal from Spence (56) saw us have something to cheer when we get one back before Lewington (74) headed home his second to make it five and complete the scoring and it wasn’t long after that the celebrations began for MK Dons with them securing a place at a level we had been celebrating reaching not too long ago….
