Yeovil’s disappointing start to the League 2 season continued with another defeat against Bristol Rovers at Huish Park on Saturday.

It’s now three defeats on the spin, two in League 2 and one in the League Cup now, for Yeovil following this one-nil reverse against Conference play-off winners last season Bristol Rovers as another the Glovers’ westcountry rivals, like Exeter before this, claimed the points.

Dolan, who almost had Yeovil ahead, was sent off in the second half to see the Glovers playing out the game with 10-men. This is something they looked like doing until Harrison (88) fired home the Bristol Rovers winner two-minutes from time.

The other results this weekend were as follows:-

Friday 14th August
Notts Co 0-2 Mansfield

Saturday 15th August
Barnet 0-2 Wycombe
Carlisle 4-4 Cambridge Utd
Crawley 1-2 AFC W’don
Dag + Red 1-3 Leyton Or
Luton 2-2 Oxford Utd
Morecambe 1-0 Accrington
Newport 2-2 Stevenage
Northamptn 3-0 Exeter
Plymouth 1-2 Portsmth
Yeovil 0-1 Bristol R
York City 1-2 Hartlepool

Looking at these results the stand out one has to be the Northampton win against Exeter and the incredible draw between Carlisle and Cambridge!

This three-nil Northampton win against previously unbeaten Exeter, which followed up a three-nil League Cup win over Blackpool in midweek, made it three wins out of three with seven-goals scored and none conceded so far by Chris Wilder’s side.

An up and down game at Brunton Park saw Carlisle come from behind and Ibehre grab himself a hat-trick, the first in League 2 this season to continue his early season form, but that still wasn’t enough to give the Blues all three-points in a four-four draw with free scoring Cambridge.

Yeovil are back in action this midweek, and have a chance to put these defeats behind them, with the next League 2 game against York, who sit just above the Glovers outside the bottom two, at Bootham Crescent.
