Triple Injury Boost For Johnson

Manager Gary Johnson could welcome back Jamie McAllister, Ishmael Miller and of course we have Byron Webster in contention following the successful appeal of the red card that he sustained in the match against Reading for the game this weekend.

Defender McAllister picked up a calf problem in the Reading game himself and came off in the 57th minute, but since then he has been making good progress and could well be back in time for the game this weekend as he is pencilled in for a full return to training today.

On loan striker Miller has been missing since the Doncaster game after picking up a hamstring injury.

Speaking to the Western Daily Press Johnson said of Miller.

‘There’s every chance Ishmael will be fit for the weekend. He’s training very well, he’s looking strong and that’s enough plus for us.’

Johnson jokes that it appears the harder we work, the luckier we seem to get and there can be little doubting that’s a message to the players themselves following the Reading battle.

Three players out of contention however are Liam Davis with his continuing toe issue, and the suspended Kieffer Moore and Joe Ralls.

Sam Hoskins also receives a comment with the manager saying he looks fit again, and those who have been injured or have been missing out like Sam Foley look good for a return.

Almost all things go for Sheffield Wednesday then.
