Ralls An ‘Old Head’ At Just 20

He’s just 20 years old but The Glovers loanee Joe Ralls feels like an ‘old head’ already.

Ralls forms a midfield quartet that only has Joe Edwards as a player older than the Cardiff midfielder, on loan with The Glovers until the end of the season, but the fact that it’s a more experienced back line behind them helps.

With us playing such a pressing energetic game having such a young and mobile midfield helps and Ralls, quoted on Sky Sports, is well aware that this helps the game we play.

‘I’m starting to feel like an old head now and I’m only 20.

‘We have a young midfield but there are some old heads at the back we can speak to and its working well.

‘Our game is about energy, pressing, winning the ball and keeping the pressure high and as young players we are trying to do that.’

You wouldn’t think that Ralls was only 20 (or Duane Holmes 19, Tom Lawrence and John Lundstram 20 and Joe Edwards 24) as he plays such a mature role in the side that we’ve enjoyed this season.

It’s a shame that we’ll not have him next season? I’m assuming that we’ll not have him at Huish Park of course.

Would be ideal even if we could only see his return next season for a year on loan, anything more than that would be brilliant, and at least he’s enjoying himself so a slim opportunity and probably a pipe dream but I’m hoping.
