Yeovil Town today decided that Paul Sturrock wasn’t the man to turn our fortunes around following his last interview and sacked him.

Having joined us back on April 9 this year, the result against Northampton at the weekend was the twelfth League Two fixture without victory and we are now bottom of the league and for the board, now was the time to act.

In a statement released on the Official Site chairman John Fry explained.

‘We are very sad that the board had to reach this decision today and we thank Paul for his hard work during his time at Huish Park. We wish him well for the future, however we all felt that in the light of recent results we had no alternative. We will now begin our search for a new manager.’

In a change from last time, Darren Way takes over as caretaker interim manager with immediate effect and he will be assisted by former caretaker gaffer Terry Skiverton.
