Seth Nana Twumasi has said he couldn’t be more happy to have put his injury issues behind him as he made his Championship debut in the game against Reading last weekend.

Speaking to the Western Gazette after entered the field of play in the 73rd minute Twumasi admitted he was kind of thrown into the deep end given the dismissals that we had suffered on the day, but he was delighted with the fact he’d got on the pitch.

‘It was hard to do a job. Gary Johnson said to just go out there and defend. Maybe they might mess it up, I just had to do a job for the team.’

He goes on to say that given the circumstances he knows it was hardly a time for him to shine and make up for much lost time, but he feels he did what the gaffer asked and did his team job well enough for the 15 odd minutes.

Having arrived at the club in the summer, the 23 year old has been battling back from a serious injury which ended his time at Northampton Town, and despite now being fit and fully recovered from his anterior cruciate ligament injury, with cartilage damage to boot, his league debut has a been a long time coming having played a few friendly and Somerset Premier Cup appearances.

He’ll no doubt hope it’s the first of a few more appearances between now and the end of the season.
