Imagine the wartime posters, ‘your country needs you’ and now picture Gary Johnson’s face and him basically saying ‘your club needs you’ as that is what he has called upon for Glovers fans as we battle for our SkyBet Championship lives.

We’ve got huge games coming up against relegation rivals.

Johnson has told The Western Morning News that he wants the fans to play a big part in our survival bid by turning out in force for the games at Huish Park and giving us great backing.

‘The fans have never let us down. It will be fantastic if we treat this like the play-off semi-finals against Sheffield United – that’s how important I believe the next few games are.

‘It will give us a definitive take on where our season’s going.’

Two points were dropped against Millwall in the week, and we can’t deny that as we needed that to be a win but it would have been worse had we lost.

With Doncaster and Sheffield Wednesday quickly coming to Huish Park Johnson knows how important it is for us to get points from those games as games at home will make or break our season.

‘We have got to make it massive. We have got to make sure Huish Park – our home – is strong for us on and off the field.

‘With all these home games against teams that are middle to bottom of the table, they become six-pointers, every single game. It will be the home games that either put us in trouble or get us out of trouble.

‘This is a great time to get behind the team and keep Yeovil in the Championship. That`s where we need to be for a year or two more, at least.

‘The effort needs to be put in now so we keep our Championship status and don`t leave it too late to win our last six games to stay up and stay in this division.’

It’s down to the players to produce the goods on the pitch but us fans can certainly play our part from the stands and I’m sure that we will.
