The unbeaten run that The Glovers are on was further extended but once again it was a SkyBet League 1 point that we had to be content with at Huish Park after a 0-0 draw with Coventry City.

Much of this was thanks to Jed Steer, the Aston Villa loanee pulled of a fine save to make sure we secured a point to make it three unbeaten, this point was also enough to take us off the foot of the table.

In a half of few chances the first half wasn’t one that you would be looking to write home about, so nor am I! Alex Smith’s effort that went wide was as close as we went.

Steer, who literally had nothing to do for the first half, and the early exchanges of the second then took centre stage.

When Seth Twumasi was deemed to have fouled Frank Nouble Coventry had a penalty within five minutes of the second half restart. Gary Madine hit an effort low into the corner but with Steer guessing the right way at full stretch he was able to turn the penalty round the post for a potentially season defining moment.

Jamar Loza and Liam Shephard both went close for us as we looked to make the most of the penalty miss, well penalty save, with Ajay Leitch-Smith denied a penalty when he claimed he was nudged as he took aim.

The improvement continues to be shown, we’re still in the relegation zone but at least now we’re not propping up the rest.
